    Message from Thurston PTO President

I first off want to say "Thank You" to all of Thurston's families! I have enjoyed my year as the PTO President, but next year we will have some new members on our PTO board. I want to congratulate all of our new members. For the 2018/2019 school year our board members will be: Brandy Merritt (President), Alisa Cox (Vice-President), Maisha Ostergren (Fundraising Chair), Anne Traicoff (Secretary), Angela Keiter (Treasurer), Anastasia Spencer (Treasurer), Oriana Barnett, Diane McIntyre, Kelly Delp (PTO Members at Large), Elizabeth Morehead (TNC Chair) and Praveena Ramaswami (Thurston Players President). Thank you to our Principal's and Teacher Representatives for a great year too!

Please consider the many activities that we have here at Thurston and without all of our parent volunteers we wouldn't be able to do many of them. Consider volunteering some of your time on one of our committee's in the fall. We are still looking for someone or a group of parents to take over our "Science Olympiad" committee, we will need someone to take over managing our website (the current parent will train you) and we need to train someone to possibly take over doing our newsletter (our current newsletter editor is able to do it for 1 more year). If you are interested in volunteering next year please let the PTO know by emailing at pto.thurstonelementary@gmail.com.
