Enrollment

The Ann Arbor Public Schools Young 5s program is an optional opportunity for those students who meet the age criteria for entrance. Enrollment is limited to space availability and is not guaranteed at neighborhood schools. For the 2026-27 school year, students must turn five years old between May 1 - December 1, 2026. For grades Kindergarten - 12th, students are guaranteed a space in their zoned school as long as they live within the boundaries of the Ann Arbor Public Schools.

For families that live within the boundaries of the Ann Arbor Public School district but would like to attend a school that is not their zoned school. We are no longer accepting in-district transfer (IDT) application for 2025-26.  More information on In-District Transfers (IDTs) and the application dates for 2026-27 can be found here.

Employees under contractual employment with Ann Arbor Public Schools and living outside the AAPS boundaries can apply. More information can be found here.

For families that live outside the Ann Arbor Public School attendance area. An address in one of the following counties is required: Washtenaw, Ingham, Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Oakland, or Wayne. We are no longer accepting SOC applications for the 2025-26 academic year. More information and the SOC application dates for 2026-27 can be found here.

Ann Arbor Open and Community High School offer an annual lottery for admittance. Students must meet AAPS residency requirements.
