McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance
Students and families who lack fixed, regular, or adequate housing due to eviction, family conflict, natural disaster, or other reasons related to economic hardship are eligible for services provided by the Ann Arbor Public Schools as required by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Students are eligible for services that remove barriers and support achievement, including:
- Immediate or continued enrollment in school
- Transportation assistance (students and families)
- Free school meals, supplies, and resources
- Academic support/ recovery
- Fee waivers (for some AAPS programs)
- Referrals to educational and community services
A request for services may be initiated in the following ways:
- By submitting a WISD Education Project referral online (includes temporary residence statement). A copy will be sent to the district liaison and your school office.
- In person at your school by contacting the office, counselor, principal, or McKinney-Vento school ally
