Mrs. Callahan has been working in the Ann Arbor Public Schools for almost twenty years. She  started her journey as a classroom teacher in 2002 at Bach Elementary. She continued there until 2010, while simultaneously earning her Masters of Science in Education at Walden University. Before Bach, Mrs. Callahan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education with minors in Science, Math and English Literature in Elementary Education.

Before coming to Lawton Elementary, Ms Callahan was the Assistant Principal at Thurston Elementary for three years. Mrs. Callahan has also worked as a Curriculum Coordinator for AAPS, coordinating professional development training and writing multiple grants to develop math and science teaching in the district.

Mrs. Callahan is very proud to be the Principal at Lawton Elementary and is committed to upholding Lawton’s great reputation by supporting her students, staff, and community through hard work and creative problem solving. When she’s not at work, she likes to camp with her husband Keith of 30 years, try new restaurants with her son Brock, and travel to new places with her daughter Brittany.
