Dean Marci Tuzinsky

Dean Marci has served Community High School in various capacities over the years. In her 19 years as a professional educator in the Ann Arbor Public Schools, she has had unique opportunities to utilize both her passions for teaching and for educational leadership. Marci has served at Community for 17 years and also two years at Pioneer High School. In the spring of 2003, she became Lead Teacher at Community to support the administrative needs of the school, while continuing to teach part-time in the classroom.

Dean Marci received her Bachelors of Science with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science from Western Michigan University. She holds a secondary teaching certificate with both math and computer science endorsements. In December of 2000, she completed her Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University with an administrator certificate. During the summer of 2014, Marci traveled with 20 other AAPS educators on a Toyota-sponsored exchange to Singapore to learn more about best practices in STEAM education.

Marci is a wife and mother of three who enjoys sailing, skiing, hiking, cooking, playing hockey, and spending time at her family cottage in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Assistant Dean Karen Siegel

Karen Siegel is currently serving as Assistant Dean at Community High School in Ann Arbor. Previously Karen worked in Plymouth Canton Community Schools as an Assistant Principal and as K-12 Curriculum Coordinator for Visual, Performing Arts and Physical Education. For over a dozen years, Karen taught Drama, Debate and Public Speaking at Ypsilanti High School where she directed and produced many plays and musicals and founded an award winning Mock Trial program.

A graduate of University of Michigan's Department of Theatre and Drama, Karen is the local chair of the 100th Anniversary Local Committee. Past services include serving on the boards of Ypsilanti Area Dancers (now Randazzo Dance Company) and the Ypsilanti Community Schools Foundation.

Karen lives in the Waterhill Neighborhood of Ann Arbor with her husband, songwriter Dick Siegel, and their daughter.
