    Ms. Evans

My name is Marlana Evans. I am your Librarian! I have worked as an educator for 8 years; I taught 3rd grade for 3 years and have been in a library ever since! I have taught in South Carolina, North Carolina, and now I am back home in Michigan. I have been a member of the Pattengill faculty for almost a year. I am passionate about literacy, collection development, and ensuring that the library is a safe space to learn and find resources.

I grew up in Flint, Michigan and my husband, John and I moved to Greensboro, NC in 2008 for him to complete his PhD in Sport and Exercise Psychology. I became a mother in December 2016 to a sweet little boy named Jack. He is the most incredible part of my day and I never let a day go by that I don’t say “thanks” for his life. We moved back to Michigan in August of 2019 for my husband to take a job with a small wellness company here in Ann Arbor. We love living here! My hobbies include reading, swimming, walking with Jack and our dog, Seamus, visiting my family, and staying at our cabin on Torch Lake in northern Michigan.

I hold a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan in Health Science and a master’s degree in Library Science from East Carolina University (GO PIRATES!).

I am looking forward to getting to know all of the Pattengill families in the coming school year!

    Warm regards,
    Marlana Evans
