King Elementary School has an amazing program called Anti-Bullying Club (ABC)!
ABC was featured at an Ann Arbor Public School's Board of Education meeting and in the AAPS Newsletter with this article and video: https://tinyurl.com/
y7j6dnl2 Now in its fifth year, three parents, who are trained social workers, and Mary Cooper, principal, facilitate a once-a-month ABC meeting. The sessions have four goals;
Students will:
- Have fun!
- Learn the names of other students. (Research shows when kids know other kids' names they are significantly less likely to bully them.)
- Know the different types of bullying.
- Be empowered to be an UPstander; learning how to stand up for themselves and others (a life skill).
