Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in Texas and lived in Chicago and Philadelphia before moving to Ann Arbor in 2008. I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Erikson Institute/Columbia College Chicago and a Master’s degree in Education Administration and Policy from the University of Michigan. I was pursuing my doctorate when I heard about the expansion of the district’s Young Fives program and decided to switch gears and head back to the classroom.
I am thrilled to be back working with young children! I am fascinated by their creativity, inspired by their kindness, and endlessly entertained by their sense of humor. The goal for our classroom is for each child to develop a love of learning and self-confidence, setting them on course to achieve their potential academically and socially throughout their school careers. Further, I seek to help them learn that they are part of a powerful community of learners and that together we can accomplish far more than any of us can individually.
I feel lucky to be part of such a wonderful school faculty that is committed to equity and excellence and to be working with such amazing children and families.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy tennis, exploring nature, music, reading and spending time with my incredible family.
