Degrees and Certifications:
The 2021-2022 school year will be my twentieth year of teaching in Ann Arbor, and my sixth year at King. I have taught grades 3, 4, and 5 with most of my experience being in 4th grade.
As an alumna of the University of Michigan, I am an avid Wolverines fan. On Fridays before game days, I like to have the class sing "The Victors". However, I am also cognizant of the fact that Ann Arbor families often support different schools, so we also acknowledge other teams' fight songs.
In 2005, I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. In 2013, I completed my Doctoral Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. In the future, I am interested in pursuing a position in administration or curriculum leadership; however, I am currently passionate about staying in the classroom.
In December of 2011, I married my husband, Mark Wagner. Mark is a nurse anesthetist at Beaumont Hospital in Grosse Pointe. We are both very close with our families. In April of 2013, we welcomed our son Nick into this world. In February of 2016, his brother Noah was born and made our family complete. We live in Plymouth, Michigan. I am fortunate that my parents help often with our boys during the school year.
I wholeheartedly enjoy working with my students and helping them to make the most of their 4th grade year. I have always loved learning and challenging myself. I hope to help the students to challenge themselves educationally this year because our challenges are what make us grow in our learning.
