Degrees and Certifications:
Taneia Giles has been an educator for over sixteen years. She worked for thirteen years in Birmingham Public Schools where she thrived and challenged students to always do and be their absolute best. She is now honored to serve the King family as well as the Ann Arbor Public School Community. She is truly passionate about education, and it is her goal to ensure the continued success of the King community in her role as assistant principal. She is committed to sharing the same passion for education with others, while equipping, empowering, and engaging all stakeholders for the continued advancement of our 21st Century learning culture.
Before joining the King community, Taneia served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles in Birmingham. In addition to her role as a classroom teacher, she guided both students and staff as a leader of extracurricular programs and building committees and acted as a teacher coach and mentor. As a lifelong learner, she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education as well as dual Master’s Degrees in Educational Administration and Counseling.
She is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana and moved to Michigan when she married her husband, Ken. Together, they have three beautiful children Kiara (18), Kennedy (16), and Tyler (13). Their family enjoys spending time together traveling and exploring new adventures.
