Ms. Keichea Shauntee-Wilson

Dear King Elementary Students, Parents, Teachers, Staff, and Community;

I am excited to join the King Elementary family. I had the honor to serve as the Assistant Principal at Ann Arbor Open during the 2022-23 school year. It was an incredibly engaging year of learning and discovery.

Before joining Ann Arbor Public Schools in 2022, I served as a Middle/High School Teacher in the FarmingtonPublic Schools since the 2015-2016 school year. In that role, I also had the pleasure to serve as a K-12 Summer School Administrator, Building Equity Leader, and was honored to receive the Superintendent’s Award of Excellence as well as the Applause Certificate of Appreciation. Prior to that, I was an Educational Coach in the Detroit Edison Public School Academy as well as a teacher and union representative in the Oak Park
Public Schools.

On a personal note, I am a mother to 18 year old Keichean and 20-year-old Spirit. Keichean is a recent graduate of Farmington High School and Spirit will be entering her Junior year of college. We enjoy traveling and spending quality time together.

This is my 16th year in public education. I hold an undergraduate degree from Hampton University, an MBA from Wayne State University, and an MEd from Marygrove College. I have also recently embarked on my PhD journey with Western Michigan University, majoring in Educational Leadership: K-12 Leadership. If all goes according to plan, I hope to finish my doctoral work during the summer of 2026!

I am a lifelong learner and I believe that the basis of growth is in building relationships centered on students' needs, supported by data and grounded by the input of parents, staff and community voices.

Educationally Yours,

Ms. Keichea Shauntee-Wilson
