Ms. Carrie James
Diploma and Career Programme Facilitator
Carrie James began her journey as an educator in 1999, as a Social Studies teacher at Lahser High School. She taught World Studies, US History, Economics, AP Microeconomics, and AP Macroeconomics for 13 years, also serving as the Social Studies Department Head for 7 years. In 2008, she was named as Lahser's first MYP Coordinator and began her work with the International Baccalaureate by leading the staff in their application, development and implementation of the Middle Years Programme. Ms. James expanded her work with the International Baccalaureate community as an IB Educator for the MYP, primarily participating on site visit teams. Her programme coordination also expanded when Lahser High School and Andover High Schools merged in 2013. Ms. James became the Bloomfield Hills High School Diploma Programme Coordinator as well as the building's MYP Coordinator of the combined staff and new 4 school partnership. Ms. James has since led BHHS through successful programme evaluations for both MYP and DP. Ms. James is passionate about providing exceptional learning opportunities for students and is excited to collaborate with Huron teachers, families and community to ensure a successful addition of the opportunities within the IB Diploma and Career Related Programmes for the students at Huron High School.
