Degrees and Certifications:
I spent most of my childhood living abroad. I was born in Tokyo, Japan, and grew up in New Delhi, India (my parents were music teachers at international schools). Over summer breaks we would often return to spend time in Toledo and Northern Michigan.
Before becoming a teacher, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Communications and worked in Chicago in the marketing field. After serving for 3 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kyrgyzstan, I came to Ann Arbor to pursue a Master’s in Elementary Education with an ESL endorsement. I did my student teaching at Mitchell School, so I feel especially lucky to have landed here for my first position!
My wife, Maryn, and I live in Ypsilanti (with our dog, Dodger). We enjoy hiking and playing music (he enjoys eating out of the trash). I love to swim and bike, watch nature documentaries, and relax with a science fiction book.
