     Mrs. Giles

    Taneia Giles has been an educator for over eighteen years. She served as the Assistant Principal for King and Lawton Elementary School. Prior to joining Ann Arbor Public Schools, she worked for Birmingham Public Schools for thirteen years. She is now honored to serve the Bryant/Pattengill Family. She is truly passionate about education, and it is her goal to ensure the continued success of the Bryant/Pattengill community in her new role as principal. She is committed to sharing the same passion for education with others, while equipping, empowering, and engaging all stakeholders for the continued advancement of our 21st Century learning culture. 

    Before joining AAPS, Taneia served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles in Birmingham. In addition to her role as a classroom teacher, she guided both students and staff as a leader of extracurricular programs and building committees and acted as a teacher coach and mentor. As a lifelong learner, she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education as well as dual Master’s Degrees in Educational Administration and Counseling. Taneia is working on her Doctorate in Education at Creighton University.

    She is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana and moved to Michigan when she married her husband, Ken. Together, they have three beautiful children Kiara, Kennedy, and Tyler. Their family enjoys spending time together, traveling, and enjoying new adventures.

    Mrs. Giles is excited to inspire every student to think, learn, achieve, and care. She is happy to apart of the Pattengill Pumas!
