Social Worker
Ms. MalladDear Pattengill families,
My name is Mya Mallad and I serve as the School Social Worker at Pattengill Elementary School. Primarily working in special education, I also support the advancement of social-emotional learning for all Pattengill students. I am so excited to meet you and your students during the 2020-2021 school year.
This will be my second year working in Ann Arbor Public Schools. I previously attended the University of Michigan to obtain my Master of Social Work with a specialization in children and youth (Go Blue!). Prior to completing my MSW, I attended Eastern Michigan University and obtained my BSW. Currently, I am a virtual student at the University of Kentucky working towards my Doctorate in Social Work.
Aside from social work, I love spending time outdoors. My hobbies include hiking, running, traveling, and boating. On any given day, you can find me visiting the Ann Arbor trails and taking in the scenery. My favorites include Bird Hills, Ramble Trail, and Lillie Park. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading a good book, and grabbing a cup of Mackinac Island Fudge ice cream from Kilwins.
I’m looking forward to getting to know each of you during the upcoming school year. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ms. Mya Mallad
