    • Need funds to support getting literacy materials in the hands of students?
    • Have a great idea to promote literacy to your students?

    Apply for a Karen Thomas Fund (KTF) Literacy Grant!

    The KTF Literacy Grant provides grants for elementary school projects and programs that encourage and promote literacy, support academic retention programs, augment reading materials in elementary school media centers and other projects and programs to help develop literacy in elementary school students, with an emphasis on projects that help struggling readers.

    The grant is open to any Elementary School staff person as well as staff from the Preschool and the A2Virtual Elementary Program. 

    **Please note: We are now using Submittable to manage the KTF Literacy Grant Applications.  Because of this, you will have to create a free account to submit an application.  But the good part is once create an account, you can save a draft of your application and come back to it later. **

    KTF Literacy Grants are provided through the generosity of the Karen Thomas Fund.  The Fund was established in memory of former Board of Education Trustee Andy Thomas’s wife of 38 years.

    AAPSEF Classroom Grant Program

    The Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation is excited to announce that applications for The Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) Education Fund are now being accepting through November 3, 2021.
     
    This fund supports classroom projects that enhance and enrich the learning experience and provide the skills and proficiency required for employment and further education for all students attending AAPS.
     
    Programs/projects must address one or more of the following topics:
    • literacy
    • science & technology
    • the arts
    • mental health
    • COVID support
    • DEI.

    Special consideration will be given to programs/projects that involve collaboration with other classes, schools, or nonprofits and to Title 1 Schools.

    Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation

    The Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation has provided the community with over $6 million in funding over the clubs nearly 100 years. A significant part of the Foundation's gifting is through community grants, which typically range from $250 to $2,500.

    ITC Charitable Giving Program

    ITC Holdings provides grants of $1,000-$15,000 to non-profit 501 (c) (3) organizations in Michigan to support five key areas:

    • Education
    • Environmental Stewardship
    • Social Services
    • Health & Wellness
    • Arts & Culture

    Application Deadline: Jan-April and July-Sept.

    Rotary Ann Arbor Grants

    The Ann Arbor Rotary Club annually solicits applications from Washtenaw County not-for-profit organizations whose purpose aligns with the theme “Helping Kids Succeed.” The Rotary provides grants up to $5,000.

    Application deadline is typically in late February.

    Education Excellence Grant

    The SET SEG Foundation, partnering with the Michigan Association of School Boards, is awarding $2,500 to ten educational programs within Michigan public schools and ISDs to continue their positive influence on their students and community. Program focus areas include Education (STEAM and Literacy), Social Responsibility and Mental & Behavioral Health Awareness and Prevention.
