My name is Catie Baetens. I mainly support Allen's students who are learning English as a second (or third, or fourth) language. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and I completed my educational coursework at San Jose State University and the Reach Institute for School Leadership.

 

One of my favorite children's books that I love to read with students is Weslandia by Paul Fleischman because it teaches us the importance of being kind vs. bullying, how to follow your heart, and how to honor our strengths. The drawings are also absolutely gorgeous!
