Linda Crosby
Welcome families! My name is Linda Crosby. I am thrilled to teach your child and grow together this year. I love the curiosity of Kindergartners and can’t wait to spark their imaginations. When children are curious, they tend to find interesting things to do. I am excited to watch them learn and grow under my care this year. I love getting to know the children and for them to get to know me. I’m sure you will hear many stories throughout the year! My goal is always to provide a safe and caring environment where we are kind to one another. It is my pleasure to encourage a love of learning where we celebrate accomplishments both big and small. I hope to make learning fun for your child so that they always love coming to school.
I have been teaching in Ann Arbor Public Schools for over twenty years. I taught at Logan Elementary and am looking forward to working with your child at King Elementary. Prior to teaching in Ann Arbor, I taught in Palm Beach County, Florida for three years as the school reading specialist and literacy coach. I have taught Kindergarten for the majority of my career. I have also taught Young Fives, first grade and served over ten years as a Reading Recovery and Reading Intervention teacher. I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University. I continued my education at Michigan State University with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching. I did an additional year of training at Florida Atlantic University with a focus on reading and early literacy.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Mike, and our two wonderful daughters, Angelina and Juliette. As a family, we enjoy traveling and usually go somewhere every chance we get. I love decorating, beach activities, going on long walks and hikes, horseback riding (although I am definitely still learning) and searching online for fun activities to do with my Kindergartners.
I absolutely love teaching Kindergarten. It is my passion and I am excited to teach your child to be amazing readers and writers this year. My heart is in Kindergarten and I thank you for welcoming me to the King community. I can’t tell you what an honor it is to be here. I look forward to inspiring your children this year, and I can tell you already that they will definitely inspire me. What a fun year we will have in Kindergarten!
