Liz Brisson

Hello King Families and Friends!

My name is Liz Brisson, and I am thrilled to be your child’s first grade teacher!

This past year I studied and completed my master’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of Michigan. In addition to my Masters, I also received an endorsement in teaching English as a Second Language. During my time as a graduate student, I was lucky enough to serve as a student teacher at King in Mrs.Gatonez’s Kindergarten class.  This experience made me fall in love with the King community and I especially appreciated working with such welcoming students, staff, and families.

Prior to graduate school, I studied and received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Michigan State University with a focus in teaching mathematics. I spent four years studying and working in classrooms across Ingham County. While completing my degree I worked at a local preschool where I taught children between four months and five years old! Teaching has been such an important part of my life and I could not be more excited to be a teacher at this amazing school.

Outside of the classroom I enjoy exploring various hobbies. My most recent hobby is baking and decorating cakes. My favorite to make is a chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and buttercream. When I’m not baking, I can be found playing games outside such as corn hole, golf, and bocce ball.

Working with children is my passion and I am excited to see how much my students grow this year. I hope to encourage my students to be strong and loving leaders in the community while learning about the world around us. Thank you for welcoming me to your school and I look forward to an amazing year!
