Summer 2023 – Improving a Grade or Taking for the First Time 

Students wishing to take any course to raise a grade, get ahead, or strengthen their skills may do so with a summer course.  These courses are open to any middle or high school student. 

• AAPS students may choose up to two online classes during the summer term at a special reduced cost. 
• The class(es) taken during the summer term will earn both credit and a grade.  There are no extensions or incompletes during the summer term.  There is a drop period that ends June 30, 2023 for A2 Virtual+ and Edgenuity courses. The drop period for Michigan Virtual courses ends five days after starting the course.  Note that withdrawals will not be accepted except in new extenuating circumstances.  Once the drop period has passed, a grade will be earned for the course. 
• We only recommend one online class during the summer term.   Each online course is considered to average 90-110 hours depending on the student.  We equate that to an average of 15-20 hours per week.  Students taking two courses will be committing to 30-40 hours a week.  In addition, students taking two courses will be required to stack the courses which means that the first course would need to be completed by July 14, 2023, in order to be allowed to take the second course.  There are no extensions and no incompletes during the summer term.

Summer Options for Non-Ann Arbor Public School Students

• Students who were not enrolled with Ann Arbor Public Schools during the 2022-2023 school year, homeschool students, and students from outside the district may enroll in up to two online classes each summer at a cost of $299 for each A2 Virtual+ and A2 Virtual+ through Edgenuity course.

Michigan Virtual High School Course Dates: May 19th- July 28th
