Mr. Dante Watson

Mr. Watson grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and most of his family still lives there. Mr. Watson loves spending time with his wife, who is also a teacher for the Ann Arbor Public School District. They love to travel and practice yoga together. In Mr. Watson’s downtime, he runs in Gallup Park and watch his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers.   

Mr. Watson has always been passionate about the topic of education. He loved to help kids at a young age, and he knew he wanted to be an educator. Therefore, Mr. Watson went to The Ohio State University and received his Bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development and Education. He received a Master’s degree in Elementary Education PreK-3rd grade with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development from The Ohio State University. After he graduated, he relocated back to Michigan to teach in the Ann Arbor Public School District in 2005. He has taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade in the Ann Arbor Public School District; he has served on numerous district and school committees. Mr. Watson also has his administrative certification from Eastern Michigan University, and he began serving as an Elementary Administrator within the district in 2016. 

Mr. Watson loves to greet students first thing in the morning. “I want to make sure the students know that we are here to make sure that they have a wonderful educational experience, and I want to start their day off right. It is a refreshing and joyful experience to see all of their smiling faces in the morning.”
