  • 2019-2020 REGISTRATION

    Registration for the 2019-2020 school year will take place at Pioneer High School on Wednesday, August 21st and Thursday, August 22nd.  MAKE-UP registration will be Monday, August 26th from 5-8pm. Registration is mandatory.

    How to Enroll: You should have received an e-mail from "backtoschool@a2schools.org". (InfoSnap Support <noreply@noreply.infosnap.com>) with your InfoSnap “snapcode" (15 digit code of letters and numbers) and information on how to update your registration forms. If you do not have the information please be sure to check your email spam folder. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us at 994-2120.

    Obligations: Obligations should be cleared prior to Registration. For questions regarding book obligations,  contact the General Office at 994-2120. Students may turn in or pay for obligations in the General Office until August 16. Cash or check accepted. No credit cards. 

    Freshmen Orientation: (Main Gym) Freshmen orientation is Wednesday, August 21st and is for students only.  Orientation begins at 12:00pm.  Parents will need to return at 3:00pm for pickup.  Lunch will be provided beginning at 11:15am.

    Other Information: Students will receive a copy of their schedule at Registration. Counselors will not be available to assist with scheduling questions before or during registration. Request for Schedule Assistance forms will be available the day of registration for counselors to review and schedule appointments.

    Class Photo Make-Up (If you did not take a picture for the class photo)

    • Thursday, May 27th  from 3 – 5pm.
    • Flagpole entrance, one student entering at a time.
    • Dress your best and avoid wearing green clothing.
    • Any prank photos will not be submitted.

    Distribution Make-Up Day  (caps, gowns, announcements, yard signs)

    • Friday, May 28th 12:00 – 3:00pm (after senior finals)
    • Bring in all obligations owed at this time – Chrome Books, Textbooks, Library Books, Athletics, etc
    • If you have questions about obligations contact Mr. Andrew Vazquez in the Book Depository at vazqueza@aaps.k12.mi.us.
    • Make sure to have your Senior Exit and Naviance Surveys completed.
    • You will also need to request your final transcripts through Naviance.

    Commencement Ceremony

    We are very excited to be hosting the graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2021 on our campus. In the AAPS, we place a high value on the experience of celebrating high school completion with a ceremony that recognizes the accomplishments of our graduates. With the recent changes to limits on outdoor gatherings in the state of Michigan, we will now hold just one ceremony for the entire graduating class. The ceremony will be on Thursday, June 3rd and begin at 6:30 PM. Seniors should report to Hollway Field by 5:00pm.

    Our ceremony will have many of the features of our traditional graduation ceremony, including graduate and staff processionals and recessionals, addresses by school administration, and student speeches. As well, and most importantly, every graduate will be introduced as they walk across the stage to receive their diploma. 

    Each graduate will receive four (4) tickets and one (1) parking pass. Seating will be GENERAL ADMISSION. Due to limited capacity in the stadium, spectators must have a ticket to enter. When you arrive, please follow the directions of our ushers to seating. Please note that there will be a limited number of seats in sections that will be marked for social distancing. At the time that tickets are distributed, graduates should request seating in these locations. Your cooperation with seating will allow for a timely start to our ceremony.

    As a reminder, the CDC recommends that all non-vaccinated people continue to wear a mask even when outdoors. While we are limiting tickets, this ceremony will have a lot of people in attendance. Whether socially distanced or not, the AAPS recommends that non-vaccinated people, spectators and graduates, wear a mask. 

    Due to limited capacity on campus and in the stadiums for the ceremonies, each graduate is issued only one (1) parking pass. This pass must be displayed to gain access to campus parking. The ceremony will be streamed live, and a link will be posted to the district’s and school’s website as well as on social media platforms.

    No high heel shoes will be allowed on the stadium turf. Wedges are preferred if you do not want to wear flats.

    Diplomas will be passed out on Friday, June 4th during the Technology Return. All Obligations will need to be settled prior to receiving your diploma. Instructions regarding the return will be sent to families closer to the date.

    The graduation will be aired on Comcast CTN the following days:

    • Premiere:  Monday, June 7 at 8 PM
    • Replays:  Wednesday
    • June 9 at 12 PM
    • Saturday, June 12 at 4 PM
    • Sunday, June 13 at 8 PM
    • Saturday, June 26 at 8 PM
    • Wednesday, June 30 at 11 AM

    Mandatory Rehearsal

    • Thursday, June 3rd
    • 9:50 – 11:30 am
    • Park in the student lot
    • No high heel shoes will be allowed on the stadium turf. Wedges are preferred if you do not want to wear flats.

    End of the Year Senior Activity

    • At the completion of the rehearsal, Seniors will be directed to the Pioneer Courtyard.
       
    • From 11:30am until 12:45pm, Seniors will be served individually wrapped lunch provided by the PTSO and Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.
       
    • At 12:45pm, the Pioneer High School Staff will “Clap-Out” the Seniors as congratulations for a job well done!
       
    • At 1:00pm, Seniors will be dismissed from the campus to prepare for the Graduation Ceremony.

     

    Inclement Weather: The ceremony is a  “rain or shine” event. However, if severe weather is expected, we will have an alternate plan for graduation involving a brief indoor ceremony. Please note that the indoor ceremony will have limited capacity. Each graduate will be able to enter the building with ONLY 2 guests. The decision to cancel the outdoor ceremonies will be made by 3:00 PM on the day of the ceremony, and the cancellation announcement will include the details for the indoor processional. Again, the ceremony will be streamed live, and a link will be posted to the district’s and school’s website as well as on social media platforms.
