Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Alexandra Monteleone
I am a home-grown Ann Arborite (graduate of Lawton, Slauson, and Pioneer) and love all of the resources, events, and nature that our city has to offer families. In the past, I have taught at both the elementary and middle school levels for several years each, and found that teaching middle school-aged children is where my heart is happiest! Language and Social Studies have always been my passion, but I find science (especially the soft sciences) to be a huge interest to me as well.
In my free time (comes few and far between with a toddler around!), I enjoy events in Ann Arbor with my family, reading novels and non-fiction of all sorts, canoeing on the Huron River, trail hiking, and riding pretty much anything that has two wheels. I'm always up to explore new places in the natural world!
I'm so thrilled to be a part of the A2 STEAM community, and begin to guide middle school students in rediscovering their curiosities to help them unfold new opportunities for growth and learning. I believe that middle school aged children need support and encouragement to develop their sense of self. The core of my teaching practice is ensuring that all students receive the tools and skills they need to make wise decisions that will be beneficial to maintaining a growth mindset and happiness as they progress through their academic careers and personal lives in the future.
