Intensive Reading Program

  • Summer Intensive Reading Program: (In-person & remote learning, Y5-12)

    female student Program Description:
Previously, SISS has offered a Project READ summer intervention program for some of our struggling readers with IEP’s. This year, we are changing our approach to summer reading intervention because we know that our students have diverse reading needs that require an approach that incorporates a variety of tools and strategies.

The SISS Summer Intensive Reading Program will individualize interventions based on reading assessments performed for each student prior to the summer session. Students will be grouped into classes based on similar reading needs. Teachers will identify student strengths and areas of need, and identify interventions to target those needs.
