  • Project Read Summer Intensive Reading Program: (remote learning, K-8)

    female student Program Description:
    Project Read by Language Circle Enterprises® focuses on decoding, encoding, and reading comprehension strategies, using multisensory activities and direct instruction to present a systematic approach to phonics. Research-based and student-tested activities will be specifically tailored to K-8 students who are at least 2 grades below their present grade level. The activities will provide an opportunity for students to reduce deficits in phonemic awareness, sound/symbol recognition, syllabication, word building, sentence composition, story reading, and kinesthetic/tactile memory. Eligible students will receive individualized small group instruction from special education teachers who have been trained in the principles of instruction and reading strategies for Project Read.  

    Learning Targets:

    "R.E.A.D." logo Students will be assessed using Project Read materials and individual goals will be established.

    Program Dates:  July 6th - July 30th

    Days:  Monday - Thursday

    Times:

    8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. or
    9:30 am - 11:00 a.m.

    Enrollment:

    Enrollment in the Project Read Summer Intensive Reading Program is by invitation based on reading level and teacher recommendation.  Parents of invited students will receive communication with instructions for how to indicate desire to participate in the program.

    Parent Orientation:

    A parent orientation will be scheduled to allow you an opportunity to meet your student’s teacher and to become familiar with the Schoology learning system where lessons will take place. Date and time TBD.
