School Age Child Care
Fall 2020 Child Care
When AAPS reopens on August 31, 2020, school schedules may look very different. We are working closely with district administration to determine what type of child care can be offered in the fall school schedule. More information about what school will look like will be available by late July on the district website.
Because of the above timing, the 2020-21 SACC registration opening date has not been determined. Current families will be notified in advance of the opening by eblast. Registration will also be posted on the SACC, Rec & Ed, and district websites. We know how difficult this waiting process continues to be and how critical child care is for working families. We're committed to providing child care for as many families as we can under CDC protocols.

The Ann Arbor Public Schools Community Education and Recreation Department is committed to enhancing the overall well being of children who attend our School Age Child Care Program. We believe that a quality childcare experience depends on continuity, planning, and children having a sense of belonging to the group. Our program is designed to both enrich and complement a child’s school experience. To that end, we strive to provide:
- A safe, healthy, stable environment
- Universal snack menus
- A capable, sensitive, caring and energetic staff who understand the needs of children in a childcare environment and who take part in ongoing staff development
- Well organized, age-appropriate activities and games for recreation and skill acquisition
