    Summer Term 2020 Information  

    We are pleased to share expanded free offerings to support our students and families during these challenging times when schools have been closed for months.  Whether you are looking to fill learning gaps, raise a grade or take a course to get ahead, we have options for you.  Students taking A2Virtual+ courses appreciate the flexibility to learn when it suits them best. 


    Summer 2020 No Cost Options – Retaking a Current Course

    A student wishing to retake a trimester three/semester two course for a grade, may do so with A2Virtual at no cost.  Here are some things to consider before enrolling:

    • Students may retake one of their scheduled (trimester three/semester two) courses free of charge.
    • Courses taken are graded and must be completed in full during the summer window.
    • Students should plan on a commitment of 15-20 hours of learning time per week.
    • No extensions are offered for summer courses so please plan your time carefully to ensure you complete the course within the window.
    • Middle school students may choose to retake the second half of their math course.

    Summer 2020 – Courses Offered at Significantly Reduced Cost - Improving a Grade or Taking for the First Time

    Because of the economic challenges facing our families at this time, we have worked to significantly reduce the cost of all summer courses. We hope that our students wishing to take any course to raise a grade, get ahead or strengthen skills may now be able to do so more easily.  These courses are open to any middle or high school student.

    Here are some things to consider before enrolling:

    • Students may a total of two courses during the summer term. 
    • Courses taken are graded and must be completed in full during the summer window.
    • Students should plan on a commitment of 15-20 hours of learning time per week per course.
    • No extensions are offered for summer courses so please plan your time carefully to ensure you complete the course within the window.

    Dates:  June 29 – July 31

    Completion Deadline: July 31 – No Extensions

    Course Drop Period:  June 29 - July 2

    AAPS Student Summer 2020 Fee: $169/course

    Non-AAPS Student Summer 2020 Fee: $299/course

    Maximum Number of Courses: 2

    Summer Session Credit: Up to 1.0

    Summer 2020 – Michigan Virtual Courses Offered at Reduced Cost - Improving a Grade or Taking for the First Time

    We are excited to be able to offer courses at a reduced cost through our partnership with Michigan Virtual. 

    Here are some things to consider before enrolling:

    • Courses are available starting June 8th. 
    • All students enrolled in Michigan Virtual courses will be assigned a mentor.
    • Students should plan on a commitment of 10-15 hours of learning time per week per course.
    • No extensions are offered for summer courses so please plan your time carefully to ensure you complete the course within the window.

    Dates:  June 8 – July 31

    Enrollment Deadline to Add: June 25

    Completion Deadline: July 31 – No Extensions

    Course Drop Period:  June 8th - July 2

    AAPS Student Summer 2020 Fee$279/course

    Non-AAPS Student Summer 2020 Fee$399/course
