The Michigan Department of Treasury reminds schools districts and nonprofit nonpublic schools about a couple of actions that must be completed under the GRSP, Head Start, Adult Education, and Young Adult Teacher COVID-19 Grant Program by Friday, March 19.

    Schools are asked to:

    • Provide Teacher Certification Form 5741 to eligible teachers, including their Full-Time Employee (FTE) calculation. Form 5741 is available on the grant program’s webpage.
    • Post notice about the grant program on their website and at least one other means of widely used communication. This is so eligible grant recipients can be identified and are given an opportunity for written appeal of eligibility status to the school.

Eligible teachers should submit Teacher Certification Form 5741 to the school district or nonprofit nonpublic school no later than April 9, 2021. This form should not be sent to the Michigan Department of Treasury.

School districts and nonprofit nonpublic schools are then required to compile the list of eligible classroom teachers and electronically submit the list as early as April 9, 2021, but no later than April 19, 2021, using the electronic submission system and form provided by the Michigan Department of Treasury.

    Recording of Webinar Available
