Recognizing amazing volunteers at Thurston

Thurston Elementary is home to students that speak many different languages. Among the languages spoken at the school are: Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Spanish, and German, as well as many other languages.

Needless to say, Thurston EL Teacher Hannah Higgins, truly appreciates having volunteers who are bilingual or have an interest in supporting EL students.

This year, Ms. Higgins welcomed several frequent volunteers to Thurston to provide support to EL Students.

In particular, Ms. Higgins would like to recognize the following volunteers for their efforts:

Emilia Vizachero
McClaren Christiansen
Jinyong Kim
Hueichun Chu
Thea Johnson
Hyejeong Son
Emma Saito
Emily Saito
Hiromi Higashimura.

According to Ms. Higgins, "I am so thankful for the many volunteers that have supported us at Thurston this year.  These volunteers should all be recognized for their dedication to the EL students at Thurston and for their hard work with translating and helping our new students feel more confident and included in classroom activities and discussions."

Thank you, Thurston EL volunteers!
