During National School Counseling Week, I want to take the opportunity to express appreciation to all of our AAPS school counselors for making a positive and powerful difference in the lives of our children.
This year the national theme is "School Counselors: Providing Lessons for Life."
The emphasis and dedication of our school counselors to student achievement, safe schools, multiculturalism and diversity, social and emotional development, mental health, human rights, parent and family involvement, child advocacy, college and career planning, as well as community collaborations and partnerships are among the many tasks they perform that impact our students, district and community.
As Superintendent of Schools, on behalf of the entire AAPS team, and along with the Board of Education, we appreciate all our counselors and are so very proud of the tremendous role they play everyday in helping our students achieve school success and plan for the future.
