Announcements for Wednesday, September 11

Posted by Meredith Giltner on 9/11/2019

Good morning Skyline!

A MOMENT IN HISTORY
I would like all of us to take a moment to recall the events of September 11th.
Today is September 11.  On this date in 2001, a series of terrorist attacks destroyed the twin towers of the World Trade Center and severely damaged the Pentagon.  This was one of the deadliest terrorist acts on American soil. Commercial airliners were hijacked and flown directly into the three buildings. On this day, we remember those who were killed and those who were wounded.  This event impacted us all. We joined together as one, and even today, we must still stay united as one. From the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.”
At this time, I ask all of you to observe a moment of silence for those who lost their lives to this tragedy.

WAIT 10  SECONDS     Thank you.

Congratulations

Congratulations to these 10 students who have qualified as 2020 National Merit Scholarship Semi Finalists:

Regardless of what you want to do in the future, public speaking is an important skill, and this club can really help you get ready for the future. We meet every Wednesday after school in room A305 and our first open practice will be today in room A305. We would love to see you there!
