Writing Center

The Writing Center is currently accepting submissions for Teen Spirit, Skyline’s literary magazine, and we’re currently looking for your short stories, essays, poems, photographs, artwork, music, spoken word readings, and short films. This year’s theme is “Teenage Riot,” as we consider how our generation is speaking out and fighting back for a different future. All submissions to Teen Spirit will also be automatically entered into the Skyline Writing Prize competition where students will have the opportunity to win their share of $400 in cash, including $150 for first place. Submissions are due this Friday, February 21st to Check out the Writing Center on Twitter or Instagram for more information.

On Friday, Peer Connections students along with Ms. Hart and Ms. Edwards will be participating in the Polar Plunge at Big House on the 50-yard line. We have a fundraising goal of $500 and we need your help to reach it! Any amount is greatly appreciated—the donations fund Special Olympics competitions. Students will be collecting funds at lunch, so please donate, also we will have a bake sale Thursday on your way out to the student parking lot. Come buy some yummy treats to support the Special Olympics.
