Hispanic American Heritage Month
Skyline is currently celebrating Hispanic American Heritage Month, which runs from September 15th through October 15th. If you are interested in Hispanic heritage, you should stop by Mr. Hannah’s room, C308, on Thursdays, between 3 and 4pm, for a taste of Latino culture, music, food, and language.
Speech & Debate Club
Come join Skyline's Speech and Debate Club! We will hold our first meeting TODAY after school in room C302. We hope to see you there!
Gardening Club
If you like spending time outside and taking care of the community, come to the gardening club on Monday after school in room C307. We welcome everyone!
Peer to Peer
On Monday, Skyline’s Peer to Peer group will be joining the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in the Out of the Darkness walk. Come support us by walking, donating, or both! Our collective goal as a P2P team is $500.
Student Drivers
Student Drivers - Driving to campus is a privilege! Students who do not comply with the rules will be denied the privilege of parking on campus. All students driving to campus must purchase a permit. Violators will be towed. So come purchase a parking pass in the Main Office.
The CUBE
Today in the CUBE, we have Brown University at 8:30am, Lehigh University at 9:30am, Kenyon University at 12:30pm, and Sienna Heights College at 1:45pm.
BSU
Skyline BSU's first meeting of the year is next Tuesday, September 27th, at 3pm in room C417 - Ms. Barton's room. Come enjoy music, games, snacks, and fun while we go over the agenda for the year. Come be seen and heard. We need you! See Seniors Aaric Blackwell, Laleh Walker, and Isaac Mack for details.
Homecoming Week Updates
At the end of the day today, we will make a special Homecoming announcement during which we will reveal the members of the 2022 Homecoming Court! Any student on Round 2 of the ballot will receive a Call Slip to leave class around 2:20pm to come to the Main Office.
On Sunday, September 25th at 1pm, we will have our annual PowderPuff Game to kick off homecoming between the Juniors and the Seniors. All students, parents, and families are invited to attend. Cash donations are accepted at the gate for Sky Food Pantry and Clothing Closet. All Sky students who enter before halftime with their student ID will be entered to win gift cards during halftime!
If you ordered shirts or hoodies at registration, or if you ordered online, those can be picked up on Monday, September 26th during lunch, at the concession stands in the Commons.
Spirit Week:
The theme for MONDAY is Anything-But-A-Backpack Day. The idea here is you carry around your books and belongings in anything but a backpack. It could be a suitcase, laundry basket, cat carrier…the crazier the better! It must be SAFE, and it must be something you can comfortably carry up and down the stairs. You will NOT be allowed to use the elevator!
Tuesday: is Tropical Tuesday
Wednesday: is Decades Day
Thursday: is Anything Under the Stars
Friday: is Class Color Day: 9th will wear white, 10th will wear Sky Blue, 11th will wear Navy, 12th will wear Black, and Staff will wear the color of Truth! Leonardo Da Vinci said that “A gray day provides the best light.”
The Homecoming Parade will take place on our Skyline Campus on Friday, September 30th at 5:30pm. If your team or club is interested in participating in the parade, you have until this Friday to sign up. This link is in your Schoology grade level group or on fliers posted throughout school. There will be a few food trucks on campus before and after the parade until 6:30pm if you’re interested in grabbing a bite to eat before the game.
The Starry Nights Homecoming Dance will be held in our Skyline Commons on Saturday, October 1st, from 8pm to 11pm, with doors closing at 9:30pm. All Sky students and guests must have a ticket and an ID to enter. Currently, you can buy tickets online on GoFan for $32.50. Tickets are available there until Thursday, September 28th. Tickets will be sold next week during lunch on Tuesday through Friday for $30, cash or check only. Tickets will also be sold at the door of the dance for $35 - also cash or check only! The QR Codes and links for GoFan and for Scholarship dance financial assistance are available in your grade level Schoology group.
Homecoming Week and the Homecoming Dance are sponsored by SAS - the Student Action Senate. This is our primary fundraiser for the year that helps us support other students events for the Skyline student body!
The Homecoming Pep Rally is next Friday. The Bell Schedule for Friday, and other details about the Pep Rally and Homecoming can be found by clicking on this link:
HC Pep Rally Bell Schedule and Directions for Friday 9/30/22
If you have any questions about Homecoming events please email or see Mrs Bezeau in Room A115.
Homecoming Dance Guest Forms
If you want to bring a non-Skyline student to the Homecoming Dance, Guest Forms are available in both SLC Offices, the Main Office, and outside Room A115. Dance Forms are DUE by 3pm on Monday! Guest tickets CANNOT be purchased until forms are submitted and approved. Please check the window of SLC Office B431 (C Hallway) for approval, which would be your student number posted on the list! If you wait until Monday to start this process, it will probably end in disappointment. Get a form TODAY if you still need one!
