Asian American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month    

On this day in 1954, Shuji Nakamura was born.  Nakamura is a Japanese American engineer and inventor, specializing in the field of semiconductor technology.  He is credited with the invention of the blue LED, for which he won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2014.

Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon

Girls Who Code                                                     

Come to Girls Who Code this Wednesday!  We have a lot of cool, new coding activities and robots.  If you were thinking about joining at the beginning of the year or are now interested, stop by C415 this Wednesday after school. 

 

ACES & Astronomy                                                          

ACES will be meeting TOMORROW in C317 from 3pm - 4pm.  We will be hosting Professor Fred Adams from UMICH Astronomy come as a guest speaker.  He will be talking about topics in extrasolar planetary systems and his work life as an astronomer.

Seniors - you MUST clear up all your obligations by June 1st, or you will NOT be given your cap & gown for graduation.  Even if you THINK you’ve turned everything in already, look for an email from the Book Depository, or stop by the Book Depository, to be sure.  

 

YAC Unified Club                          

YAC Unified Club will be meeting after school today in Room C315.  Today’s meeting is the LAST meeting of the year, and we would love to see you one last time!

WCC HBCU Day                                                    

HBCU is an acronym that stands for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

 

Are you interested in learning more about HBCUs?  Washtenaw Community College is hosting Washtenaw Historically Black College and University Day on Friday, June 2nd.  Students will experience an immersive HBCU experience, bringing HBCU culture to Washtenaw County!  

 

The day will include:

 

Presentations about WCC HBCU Pathway

Presentations from our HBCU partners (Jackson State University, Central State University, Southern University New Orleans, Mississippi Valley State University, and more)

WCC & HBCU Swag

HBCU marching bands

Divine 9 Fraternity/Sorority Stroll Off

Music, food, giveaways, and much more

High school students will have the opportunity to apply to WCC

 

Skyline is organizing bus travel to this free fun day.

Senior Updates                                                      

To our Seniors and their Guests who attended Prom this past Friday, thank you to all of you for attending and we hope you had a great time, despite the rain!  We want to congratulate the final 6 who made Prom Court - Ish Abdul Aziz, Diego Del Rio, Zara Abston, Julianna La Marca and your Winning Prom Court Royals are Waleska Castaneda-Martinez and Joe Oginsky!  Seniors, don't forget you will have your Final Sky12 this Wednesday in the Auditorium to find out the winners of your Senior SpotLight Awards!
