March 27, 2020 - Closure of AAPS Playgrounds and Athletic Fields

In an effort to help keep our students, families and community healthy and safe in response to the COVID-19 crisis, the AAPS has implemented restrictions in line with the recent City of Ann Arbor communication regarding the use of City Parks and Natural areas.

Be advised that usage of AAPS school grounds, athletic fields and playgrounds is limited to activities that do not involve direct contact with others, such as walking, hiking, running and cycling.

While engaged in any of these activities, please remain at least six feet from others who do not live with you in your household. The Board of Education and/or the Superintendent reserve the right to close the above facilities as conditions warrant.

THOSE USING THESE FACILITIES DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.

If you are sick, do not visit the AAPS school grounds until you are well. Public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring among persons not part of a single household are prohibited.

In an attempt to make every effort possible to stop the spread of COVID-19, the following school amenities are closed until further notice:  playgrounds/play structures, game courts (basketball and tennis), and athletic fields.

The AAPS encourages all to remain active outdoors as you are able, but please do so safely. Thank you for your patience as we follow the guidelines set by the CDC, the State of Michigan, and the City of Ann Arbor to stop the spread of COVID-19.
