March 24, 2023 - New Executive Director for High School Education
Dr. Robyne M. Thompson
Ann Arbor, Michigan...Dr. Jeanice K. Swift, Superintendent of Schools, Ann Arbor Public Schools, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Robyne M. Thompson as Executive Director, High School Education.
Dr. Thompson has recently been serving as Superintendent, Oakland County Academy of Media and Technology in Pontiac, Michigan. Highlights from her leadership include developing curriculum initiatives, coordinating professional development and serving as a highly collaborative mentor/coach to assist in growing the next generation of aspiring building and teacher leaders. Dr. Thompson has a passion for student advocacy and for working with students, staff and families to meet the needs of all learners. She has been highly engaged in developing, leading and supporting equity initiatives at the district and state levels, including the MDE African American Student Initiative and the Michigan Diversity Council.
Dr. Thompson holds both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's in Higher Education from Northeastern Oklahoma State University. She received her Education Specialist Degree from Eastern Michigan University and completed her Ed. D. in Educational Administration from Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan.
