November 6, 2023 - National School Psychology Week
November 6 - November 10, 2023
In the AAPS, we appreciate our school psychologists every day and want to share a special thanks during this National School Psychology Week. Schools throughout the U.S. recognize psychologists during November, highlighting the important work of school psychologists - to support and serve all students in developing essential social-emotional skills to improve their academic experience.
"Let’s Grow Together," is the theme chosen for 2023, inspired by the significance of both personal and shared strengths in our growth as individuals and school communities in every season of life.
The theme recognizes four aspects of growth as fundamental to effective learning environments and to the role of school psychologists in supporting student well-being and learning.
-
Individuals grow in their own way, often in their own time, a process influenced by engagement and interaction with their surroundings.
-
Engagement and interaction with others, being part of a vibrant community, supports our growth.
-
Diversity is a powerful ingredient in our growth.
-
Every season contributes to a continuum of growth.
Our AAPS school psychologists are particularly skilled at supporting students and staff in growing, working and learning together to meet the continued demands of school and life. School psychologists help our students set and achieve goals for growth, move forward in their next steps and advocate for needs; they support the connections necessary for students to develop the critical social-emotional and academic skills to grow, learn and thrive.
We appreciate and celebrate our wonderful AAPS School Psychologists who serve our students, families and staff.
We thank you for your expertise and the professional commitment, care and connections you provide for our students and our AAPS community.
