District wide Technology Infrastructure and Network Switches

On August 31, 2012, the bid for the district wide technology Infrastructure for network switches and wireless was released. Bids were opened on September 24, 2012. The bids were reviewed by the district’s professional team who is recommending that the Board of Education award a contract to Sentinel Technologies, Inc in the amount of $5,192,871.82 to replace the district-wide network infrastructure and wireless infrastructure to support district-wide initiatives for the 2012 Technology Bond. The Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education approved this contract on October 24, 2012 in the amount of $5,192,871.82 to Sentinel Technologies, Inc.

Comprehensive Security Network
The technology bond professional team has purchased an ASA 5500 to improve the district’s network security. The ASA is in addition to the firewall, to help with intrusion prevention, VPN, content security, unified communications, and remote access. The Ann Arbor Public Schools Board of Education approved this contract on September 5, 2012 in the amount of $76,436 to Sentinel, Inc.
