Legal Services of South Central Michigan can help a rental tenant understand your legal rights and plan how to respond if your legal rights are violated or you are facing eviction. 

Housing Voucher Preservation Programs through SOS Community Services and Washtenaw Housing Alliance (WHA)

  • Clients who already have an existing HCV/Sec 8 housing voucher can be referred for more support.

Housing Support for Individuals Impacted by the Justice System: The Rising Hope Program
Washtenaw County residents with a housing voucher who is or is living with someone who has been involved in the criminal justice system may be eligible to receive rent assistance and other support. Learn more here.

Support Through Community Partners

Peace Neighborhood Center: If your child attends Abbot, Dicken, Lawton, Haisley, Bach, Forsythe, Slauson, Pioneer or Skyline as their neighborhood school, you may be able to get support through Peace Neighborhood Center. Call Peace at (734) 662-3564 to learn more.

Community Action Network: If you live in a neighborhood supported by a Community Action Network Community Center (Arrowood, Bryant, Creekside, Hikone, Green Baxter) you may be able to receive assistance for rent. Please contact the Site Director at your neighborhood center for help.

Avalon Housing: If you live in a neighborhood supported by Avalon Housing, you may be able to receive assistance for rent. Please contact your Avalon case manager for help.
