June 9, 2026 - AAPS Summer Break
AAPS families and staff,
As we close out this school year, I want to take a moment to wish every student, family, staff member, and community partner a safe and joyful summer. Congratulations to all of our students for the hard work and dedication during the 2025-2026 school year and the growth they have achieved. To our AAPS teachers and staff, I would like to express my gratitude for your work in providing our students with a quality education. Thank you for all you have done to educate, support and guide our students. Parents, guardians and AAPS community, thank you for sharing your children with us and entrusting the AAPS with their education.
While the summer time definitely has a different look and feel, AAPS continues to have many activities ongoing during these months. This include summer school programs, Rec and Ed camps and activities, necessary facility work and we will continue negotiating with our teachers and other staff.
While many look forward to summer vacation, we know it can be a challenging time as well. This link provides a host of community resources accessible during the summer.
Meet Up and Eat Up returns this summer to offer food to all students in grades K through 12 at three AAPS locations. Abbot, Carpenter and Tappan will offer breakfast and lunch in June and July. Food must be consumed on site. Click here for more information. More food resources are available at Food Gatherers Sites.
Mental health challenges also arise and continue during the summer months. Our partnership with Care Solace continues as a tool to quickly connect individuals to community providers regardless of need. Additionally, Care Solace provides this summer survival kit to set your family’s mental health up for success this summer.
Parents can also continue to sign up and use the free Securly Home app to allow web-based filtering and set up parental controls on AAPS-issued devices at home.
On Tuesday, August 4th, on the ballot will be a renewal of our Sinking Fund Millage. This millage provides funding for the construction or repair of school buildings, security improvements, acquisition of technology and school buses. This renewal and another for 2037 were included in the planning for the 2019 Bond campaign.
I wish everyone in the AAPS community a happy and safe summer break and look forward to welcoming back our students and staff for the 2026-27 school year.
Sincerely,
Jazz Parks
AAPS Superintendent
