Dear AAPS Colleagues,

It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the passing of Natalie Jones, an 8th-grader at Slauson Middle School and the daughter of Lakeya Jones, a Resource Room teacher at Ann Arbor Open. Natalie was a beloved student of the AAPS school community who also attended Allen  and Carpenter Elementary schools.

 

Natalie was a wonderful student who had a large circle of friends and brought kindness and positivity to those around her. She was the kind of student who made connections easily, cared deeply about others, and was an important part of our school community. Natalie will be remembered fondly by both students and staff, and she will be greatly missed.

   

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lakeya, Natalie’s family, friends, educators and all who knew and loved her.
